Gertrude Palmer

Gertrude Palmer began a career in fashion design when she received the In Vivo Design Award in 1979, then returned to fine art, working from live models and painting plein air in her travels across the continent, Mexico and the Caribbean. This year she received a grant from the Coastal Community Foundation that allowed her to pursue her Gullah studies through the Portrait Society of America of which she is a member.
