 Tom DimockI am a Plein Aire Impressionist painter. My influences are Delacroix and other French Impressionists including Frank Vincent DuMond. My earliest influences were Robert Henri and Harvey Dunn. Seeking light is important in any painting to find mood, tell a story about place and illuminate the subject. Howard Pyle taught about the importance of designing using an abstract foundation of only three values. My approach is direct alla prima.
